I created the HEBREW TEXT series of acrylic paintings in 2023, when I was 94 years old. The series was part of several recent series of painting in which I tried to convey the chaotic world situation through largely illegible texts. In each of the paintings in the present series, I depicted a shofar (ram's horn) and a menorah, images that were nearly obliterated by the superimposed text. I used the ancient art of stenciling to create these paintings, using three stencils for each painting.
